Beijing: Forbidden Palace

Here we are at the Forbidden Palace in Beijing. We are standing on the Prime Meridian (north south axis) where only the emperor was supposed to walk (or more likely, be carried). The walkways on either side are for the servants who carry the emperor in his chariot down the road and up the lateral steps to the palace. (see the movie, The Last Emporer)

I have the most beautiful wife in the world. We had a wonderful time in China. Good times with good company....who could wish for a better life?! 

Today is David's 30th Birthday

We are back from China. More pictures will be posted as the week goes on. For now, here is a sponge cake we bought and ate in Chongqing, China to celebrate David's 30th birthday. It is quite artistic; even the tigers are made of soft wipped cream.
