Beijing: Forbidden Palace

Here we are at the Forbidden Palace in Beijing. We are standing on the Prime Meridian (north south axis) where only the emperor was supposed to walk (or more likely, be carried). The walkways on either side are for the servants who carry the emperor in his chariot down the road and up the lateral steps to the palace. (see the movie, The Last Emporer)

I have the most beautiful wife in the world. We had a wonderful time in China. Good times with good company....who could wish for a better life?! 

Today is David's 30th Birthday

We are back from China. More pictures will be posted as the week goes on. For now, here is a sponge cake we bought and ate in Chongqing, China to celebrate David's 30th birthday. It is quite artistic; even the tigers are made of soft wipped cream.

Sunday we had a party for Chloe and Michael Argilan - family friends - and the Summers and J. Edwards family came over. Here we are listening to a storybook that I am translating for the kiddos called "Who pooed on my head?" Baby James is enjoying it.

some doctors i work with 

Jong Hui and Se Hui visited from Korea and brought some clothes for Porter and Autumn. We had a fun time; we travelled to New York and D.C. and saw all the sites. 

Porter's first day of school. Here he is walking into the school after riding the bus. Mom followed the bus to see how Porter did. Looks like he made it.
